Dimmer Basics
Not all bulbs are dimmable. Incandescent and halogen bulbs are inherently dimmable. Most LED bulbs require specifically labeled dimmable LEDs to work with dimmer switches.
Smart Lighting
Smart switches are better for fixtures used by multiple people; smart bulbs are better for fixtures where you want adjustable color temperature.
